This module is especially well suited for:

•  Schools that have adopted the Career Choices curriculum and need training for the teachers who are going to be teaching the course.

Workshop participants:

•  Investigate and become comfortable with the interdisciplinary aspects of the curriculum

•  Explore the comprehensive Instructor's Guide , a valuable resource they'll refer to for ideas and support

•  Actively participate in actual activities, brainstorming, and discussions -- the same content they'll cover with their own students

•  Visualize the planning process -- so when they leave the workshop they're committed, willing, and enthusiastic about the prospect of teaching it

•  Understand they can teach academic skills at the same time they teach an important life process

FACILITIES REQUIRED:

Each of the above workshops require:

•  A room with round tables for the lecture/activity portion

•  A computer lab with each computer linked to the Internet and staffed by a technician. Ideally, each workshop participant should have their own computer, but the workshop is still valuable if two participants share a computer.
