Meet Today's Educators' Demanding Goals
Headquartered in St. George, Utah, Academic Innovations is known for cutting-edge, high-quality textbook materials.
Founded in 1990, Academic Innovations publishes the well-reviewed and award-winning textbook series Career Choices. As the first commercial academically-based interdisciplinary curriculum, the series mainstreams career guidance themes into the English, Math, and Social Science classrooms. Used in over 4,300 schools and employability programs nationwide, it has been remarkably successful -- in a variety of settings and with diverse populations -- at motivating students to stay in school and take their education seriously.
Nationally acclaimed, Career Choices is the recipient of a Promising Intervention award from the U.S. Department of Education and a Best Practices citation from the U.S. Department of Labor. Career Choices was adopted in 2004 by the state of Texas for its Career Investigation (8th grade) and Career Connections (9th grade) courses. In 2002 Tennessee mandated a course for 9th graders entitled "Career Management Success" (CMS). Career Choices was a state-recommended text and 167 districts out of 190 in Tennessee are using it now.
Our web-based enhancement to Career Choices, www.careerchoices.com, has added a rich technology integration component. Our newest Internet site, www.lifestylemath.com, will allow students to go online to correct their personalized calculations from the Lifestyle Math workbook.
There is also an adult edition of the Career Choices curriculum, Career Choices and Changes (never marketed beyond high school parent/child programs). Just updated and re-released, Career Choices and Changes has also been linked to Internet-based lessons and is ready to launch into junior colleges and re-entry programs tied to WIA and welfare reform initiatives.
Compensation and terms are the industry standard for independent sales reps in the secondary school market. Visit www.academicinnovations.com for detailed curriculum and company information.
