Full Bio

As Chancellor of one of the largest community college districts in the state of California, Mr. Martinez oversees a district that covers one-quarter of the land area of Orange County, registers an annual enrollment of more than 50,000 students, and is one of the largest employers in the region with more than 2,000 employees. His career spans over 30 years in the California community college system, where he was a Past-President on the Chief Executive Officers of the California Community Colleges (CEOCCC) Board. He has been dedicated to ensuring success for community college students at institutions such as Cerritos College, Santa Monica College, Los Angeles Harbor College, and East Los Angeles College. As Chancellor, Martinez maintains oversight of the district’s two colleges, Centennial and Orange Continuing Education Centers, the Digital Media Center, the Orange County Regional Fire Training Center, the Orange County Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy, and the district operations center. At Rancho Santiago CCD, current enrollment is trending upwards in the double digits amid today’s issues and challenges our students and faculty face.
