The Career Choices CurriculumEnglish Literature Becomes Part of Career and Life Planning

Lynn Meeks, Ph.D. consultant for English/Language Arts in Idaho, sponsored a two-day in-service workshop titled Applied English for the Workplace. The program focused on integrating appropriate literature into applied English curricula. Using Career Choices and Possibilities, participants focused on a wide range of multi-cultural, multiethnic, and gender balanced literature that underscored career and life planning concerns of their students.

The in-service workshop, cosponsored by grants from gender equity, vocational guidance and Boise State University, was conducted by Penelope C. Paine of California and Teena Ainsley of Oregon, educational consultants and certified Career Choices trainers.
