National Career Guidelines Reached by Consensus
As a result of input from educators across the country, the National Occupational Information Coordinating Committee (NOICC) has developed a comprehensive set of competency based career development guidelines to help states and districts plan quality career guidance and counseling programs. Recommended learning outcomes are organized around self knowledge, educational and occupational exploration, and career planning. According to NOICC officials, using the National Career Development Guidelines will, among other benefits, provide students with a better understanding of the relationship of education to work and improve career decision making skills.
